First off this is going to be an ongoing series of articles explaining the different aspects of a Smart House. In this first article I will give an overview of what makes a house smart. It used to be you had to buy your home automation devices at specialty stores, not anymore.
They are available at your big box stores, even Lowes and Home Depot have jumped into home automation. Unfortunately not all devices are compatible with each other. When you start this process it is best to map out what you want to accomplish.
